More than 85 protests are set up to erupt across the nation tomorrow from New York to Anchorage as part of the “Disappeared in America” campaign. Organizers say it’s not just a demonstration — they want to defend due process against what they describe as a wave of illegal abductions and secret deportation tactics under the Trump administration.
From courthouses to town squares, demonstrators will carry poster-sized images of those swept up and silenced — people like Mahmoud Khalil, a legal resident and former Columbia University student detained for months, and Andry Hernandez Romero, who was deported without a hearing.
Their message: Disappearing lawful residents is authoritarianism.
Despite multiple court rulings affirming due process rights, the Trump administration has continued to target immigrants without legal representation, hearings or even notification.
Advocates say it’s a shadow policy designed to make people vanish. If the president can ignore the courts and snatch people off the streets, what happens when it’s your neighbor — or you?
