Tia Fuller’s creative range includes being a member of Beyonce’s all-women touring band The Sugamamas during the I am Sasha Firece, Beyonce Experience to being a full-time professor at Berklee College in Boston teaching a variety of dynamic classes and ensembles. Tia’s achievements and career highlights include working with drummer Terri Lynn Carrington, Esperanza Spalding, Diane Reeves.

The Spelman college grad most recently, Tia was the saxophonist behind the music of Dorothea Williams, a character in Pixar’s new film, Soul.

Tia talks with Tanya on women in playing saxophones in Jazz, the new platforms she has created and Jazz’s future in popular culture. Tia also breaks down the different saxophones for us musically declined.
