WASHINGTON (AURN News) — Democracy Forward is suing the Trump administration, accusing the Office of the Director of National Intelligence, the FBI and the Justice Department of unlawfully withholding public records tied to President Donald Trump’s 2020 election fraud claims.

The watchdog group filed Freedom of Information Act requests in May seeking internal communications, threat assessments and contracts connected to the administration’s efforts to find evidence supporting Trump’s long-disputed claims that he won the 2020 election.

The requests include emails from top officials, including FBI Director Kash Patel and Director of National Intelligence Tulsi Gabbard, using search terms such as “fraud,” “Dominion” and “Maricopa.” The filing follows reporting that the Office of the Director of National Intelligence delayed releasing a report that contradicted Trump’s claims while the FBI devoted resources to reinvestigating election results in Arizona, Wisconsin and Georgia.
