Beyoncé, the most decorated artist in history, won her first Album of the Year award last night for “Cowboy Carter,” making her the first Black woman in the 21st century to do so.

Despite four previous nominations, she had never won this top honor. She also became the first Black woman to win Best Country Album, marking another historic achievement.
