“Can a Woman Raise a Man?” the stage play written and created by Q. Allen King, probes into a complex age-old question faced by the Cedar Family. The play is based King’s four-book series by the same name and explores the pains and triumphs of a family attempting to navigate their personal circumstances. The stage play follows a journey of hope, pain and healing and triumphs blended through a theatrical mix of music, comedy, and intense dialogue. The legendary cast for this stage play will include Karen Clark-Sheard, Kierra Sheard Kelly, Marva King, Robert Curry Jr.,and Tony Terry. The play will run for three shows on two days April 22nd – April 23rd at the Harker Heights Event Center in Harker Heights, TX.
Pope Francis Leaves the Hospital “Still Alive”
Less than a week after being released from a hospital in Rome, Pope Francis presided over the Palm Sunday Mass in St. Peter’s Square. The 86-year pontiff was hospitalized suddenly on Wednesday, March 29th and treated for bronchitis after reportedly having breathing difficulties. After a three-night stay, he told reporters outside the hospital that he was “still alive!” Pope Francis will preside over Holy Thursday Mass at Casal del Marmo juvenile prison and will wash the feet of inmates, in a symbolic act of servitude. Despite the Pope’s recent sickness and hospitalization, he will continue to preside over a rigorous schedule of services throughout Holy Week.

“His Only Son,” the biblical drama from Angel Studios, dramatizes the biblical passage in which God commands Abraham to sacrifice his beloved son, Isaac, on the mountain of Moriah. The movie stars Nicolas Mouawad as Abraham, Sara Seyedas Sarah, and Edaan Moskowitz as Isaac, and is the debut film from creator David Helling. Helling said that he wanted the film to serve as a reminder that the Lord simply asks for obedience and is always present even amid the chaos, pain, and uncertainty prevalent in society. “His Only Son” is the first theatrical film to crowdfund for marketing funds to pay for distribution and advertising expenses. The film raised more than $1,235,000 for prints and advertising costs.
