Social Security may run out in the near future, according to a new report from the Congressional Budget Office and their long-term projections for Social Security.

World War II veteran Jack Cooper, 93, of Richardson, Texas, holds a sign that reads, “Congress Try Living Without Health Insurance”, as he joins approximately 40 others demonstrating in support of the nation’s new health care law along the service road in front of the Social Security Administration building, Wednesday, Oct. 2, 2013, in Dallas. One set of projections shows that if the program continues to pay benefits as scheduled under current law, regardless of whether the program’s trust funds have sufficient balances to cover those payments, then the balance in the trust funds will decline to zero in 2033 and the Social Security Administration will no longer be able to pay full benefits when they are due.
