AP PARIS: France’s interior minister has said that a driver who rammed a car carrying explosives into a police convoy on the Champs-Elysees avenue in Paris has died after the ‘attempted attack’ on security forces.

Agencies report that firearms like Kalashnikov, handguns, and gas bottles were found in the car.

Interior minister Gerard Collomb told reporters near the scene Monday that the man’s motives weren’t immediately clear. But French police said, the 31-year-old man from Paris suburb had been flagged for extremism.
