Aretha Franklin, the legendary “Queen of Soul,” was born on this day, March 25, 1942, in , . Known for her powerful voice and unforgettable hits like “Respect,” “Think,” and “(You Make Me Feel Like) A Natural Woman,” Franklin became a global icon and a trailblazer in both music and civil rights.

Her remarkable career spanned over six decades, earning her 18 Grammy Awards and the distinction of being the first woman inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in 1987.
