WASHINGTON (AURN News) — An NPR investigation reports that the Justice Department withheld certain documents referencing President Donald Trump from files related to Jeffrey Epstein.
According to NPR, some Epstein-related files referencing Trump, including allegations of sexual abuse of a minor, were not included in publicly released records. NPR also reported that documents mentioning Trump were removed from a public database after their initial publication.
“Some files have not been made public despite a law mandating their release,” NPR reported.
“These include what appears to be more than 50 pages of FBI interviews and notes from conversations with a woman who accused Trump of sexual abuse decades ago when she was a minor,” NPR reported.
The Trump administration has defended the president regarding the contents of the files.
“Some of the documents contain untrue and sensationalist claims against President Trump that were submitted to the FBI right before the 2020 election. To be clear, the claims are unfounded and false, and if they have a shred of credibility, they certainly would have been weaponized against President Trump already,” the Justice Department said at the end of January.
