(AURN News) — Rapper Big Sean and music icon Usher are teaming up to invest $1 million in a new entertainment production facility for Detroit youth, according to The Detroit News. The project will be housed inside Michigan Central’s new Boys & Girls Club, set to open in February.
The Detroit Entertainment Innovation Incubator will feature a virtual production studio, special effects lab, creators’ lounge and additional digital media resources.
The initiative is a partnership between Usher’s New Look, Big Sean’s Sean Anderson Foundation and Emory University’s Goizueta Business School.
Big Sean said the goal is to give young Detroiters the tools, access and mentorship they need to build careers without leaving the city. Since 2018, he has helped install four production studios at local Boys & Girls Clubs.
Usher added that the new space is about helping youth prepare for greatness and opportunity.
