On Thursday, Stewart Rhodes, leader of the right-wing militia group, the Oathkeepers, received an 18-year prison sentence for seditious conspiracy stemming from his role in the Capitol attack on Jan. 6. Eight other group members await their sentences for charges ranging from destruction of property to sedition.
Among them is Floridian David Moerschel, accused of being part of the first group to breach the Capitol. His sentencing is on June 2, and DOJ is requesting a 10-year sentence.
Also, Jessica Watkins, an army veteran who led a militia group in Ohio that coordinated with the Oath Keepers on Jan. 6, Kenneth Harrelson, and another Florida resident have all been convicted of serious felonies with sentencing upcoming.
Veteran Thomas Caldwell, who once worked for the FBI, was also found guilty. His sentencing has been pushed back.
Throughout the month of June, you’ll see more being punished for their role in the violent attack on Jan. 6.
