Authorities in Northern California are searching for two inmates who escaped from a San Jose jail.
The Santa Clara County Sheriff’s Office says deputies discovered that four inmates had cut through a second-story window’s bars in the oldest section of the Main Jail, shortly after 11 p.m. Wednesday. Two of inmates were immediately recaptured just outside the jail.
The other two, Rogelio Chavez and Lanon Campbell, remain on the lam. Both Chavez and Campbell were facing false imprisonment and weapons charges, among other counts.
Several local agencies are searching for the men, with help from the sheriff’s office’s helicopter and dogs on the ground.
