A billboard seen along Interstate 80 in Pearl, Mississippi is raising a lot of eyebrows, particularly because of its depiction of a dark page in civil rights history when law enforcement confronted marchers in Selma, Alabma. But, the group behind the display–ForFreedoms.org–says it was erected to ‘start a conversation, according to 4029tv.com.
The organization’s website says the group is the first artist-run super PAC.
“(We use art) to inspire deeper political engagement for citizens who want to have a greater impact on the American political landscape,” the website says.
