Milwaukee Police Chief Ed Flynn says disciplinary proceedings are underway against an officer accused of sexual assault.

Flynn called Officer Dominique Heaggan-Brown’s alleged conduct “altogether awful.”
A complaint filed Thursday accuses Heaggan-Brown of sexually assaulting a man with whom he had drinks the night of Aug. 14. That was the evening after Heaggan-Brown had shot and killed a man whom police said was fleeing a traffic stop.
That slaying set off two nights of unrest on Milwaukee’s north side.
The complaint says Heaggan-Brown and his alleged victim watched TV coverage of rioting in the hours before the alleged assault.
An attorney for Heaggan-Brown didn’t immediately respond to emails and calls for comment.
