After an over month long trial and 55 witnesses, a South Carolina jury is set to hear closing arguments in the murder trial of former North Charleston policeman Michael Slager. Slager is charged in the shooting death of 50-year-old Walter Scott as the black motorist fled a traffic stop in April of last year. The shooting was captured on cellphone video.
Slager testified in his own defense Monday that he didn’t remember picking up a taser and placing it near Scott’s body, after he shot him.
