Ft. Lauderdale Airport Shooter Appears in Court

FORT LAUDERDALE (AP) – Responding clearly to yes and no questions, Esteban Santiago has made his first court appearance since Friday’s shooting at the Fort Lauderdale, Florida airport.

The gunfire left five people dead and six others wounded. Esteban Santiago was shackled in a red jumpsuit in the heavily guarded federal courtroom. He was appointed public defenders and was told he could face the death penalty.
