It has been rumored that Jay-Z and Justin Timberlake were being eyed to perform during next year’s Super Bowl halftime. It is being reported, however, that the Hip-Hop mogul has rejected the offer from the NFL.

While, his wife, Beyonce has had arguably one of the best performances in Super Bowl history, her halftime show was met with much backlash because of her homage to the Black Panthers; there were calls to boycott Beyonce. It makes sense why Jay would possibly turn down the offer, considering his recent dialogue on race relations in America on the video and song for The Story of O.J.

Last week, while performing at the Meadows Festival, Jay showed solidarity for QB Colin Kaepernick by dedicating the song to him. As it has been reported many believe Kaep does not have a job in the NFL because of his silent protest during the national anthem, one in which he started to fight the oppression that people of color face from the disparity of wealth and education, to police brutality.
