For as private as Prince was, we almost had a shot of seeing what his life was like.
A Netflix spokesperson tells The Associated Press the company was in discussions with Prince about a reality series centered on his Paisley Park estate outside Minneapolis. The spokesperson says the project did not “come to fruition” before Prince’s death in April.
From what little we know, Prince would have been a reluctant participant. His friend, photographer Maya Washington, told GQ magazine recently Prince had talked about the show and he didn’t want to be in it. She told him,
“Why not? You’re so funny.” His response: “Maya, I can’t be funny. I have to save the world.”
