It’s a meeting that symbolically begins the transition of power from President Barack Obama to Donald Trump.

But today’s get-together at the White House follows a bitter campaign, during which Obama described Trump as unfit to serve as commander-in-chief. Trump, who once led the movement questioning Obama’s birthplace, has vowed to wipe away Obama’s health care law and the nuclear accord with Iran.

Trump today is also meeting with GOP leaders in Congress — with whom his relationship has been strained.
