He recently sent James Bond fans into a frenzy with a cryptic tweet, suggesting he could be signing up to be the new 007. And Idris Elba added more fuel to rumors during his DJ set at London’s Elrow Town Festival on Saturday. The British actor, 45, opened up his main-stage set with the famous James Bond theme tune, further hinting he could be stepping into Daniel Craig’s shoes as the formidable MI6 spy.
Idris, who performed in a bold green shirt and blue jeans, looked totally in his element as he worked the decks for the packed out crowd. The Wire star teased the audience with the franchise theme song, which has been used in every Bond film since the first in 1962. This comes after Idris caused a huge stir on Twitter on Sunday after posting a selfie alongside the caption: ‘my name’s Elba, Idris Elba’.
