Rev. Barber, Poor People’s Campaign Challenges Congress to Protect Low Wage Workers

Rev. Dr. William Barber of the Poor Peoples Campaign is looking for the government’s hand to reach out to the poor in the midst of the coronavirus pandemic. Rev. Barber is not finding what he is hoping for even with the bipartisan Family First Act, on which Democrats and Republicans have agreed. AURN’s April Ryan spoke with the good Reverend about protecting the most vulnerable during this health crisis.

Congress must go back & pass another bill that covers all workers. They cannot leave out millions by exempting some low-wage workers from paid sick leave. These workers will not be exempted from the disease.
